Ad design for artist Jerry Kearns’s 2014 solo exhibition RRRRGGHH!!!! at Mike Weis Gallery.
Instead of having one of his paintings as the ad image, the client wanted an ad that instead echoed his painting style of collaged elements. It was also the artist’s first solo show in New York in over a decade, so he wanted to make light of his own return the scene. I incorporated the planned window painting for the gallery’s entrance, and used two of the characters from the show’s paintings to reflect Kearns’ hybrid graphic/realism painting style.
